About Old Frame Meta
Old Frame Meta shows what is winning in two Magic: The Gathering formats played with old-border cards: Premodern (Fourth Edition to Scourge) and Old School (93/94). It answers two questions: what should I play, and what does it cost.
What you get
- Meta: the most played archetypes right now, how each one moved since the previous period, and what a typical list costs.
- Archetypes: one page per deck with its key cards, how the list changed month by month, the cost to build and recent results.
- Rogue: off-meta decks that made a top 8, with the event size and price you choose.
- Over time: the top archetypes month by month, and two periods compared.
- Budget: the archetypes that fit a price, what makes them expensive, and the cheapest lists that placed.
The switch in the header changes format. Every page keeps your range, platform and event-size filters in the URL, so a link shows exactly what you saw.
Where the numbers come from
Decks and events come from tcdecks.net and MTGTop8; card data and images from Scryfall; prices from the Cardmarket price guide (EUR) and TCGplayer market prices via Scryfall (USD). The data is refreshed every week and covers 25,949 decks from 2,669 events since 1 Nov 2025. Sources publish placings, not match results, so shares describe what does well at events, not everything that is played. The methodology page explains the field, the classification and the significance marks.
What it does not do
It shows no card lists of its own: every deck and event links back to its source. There are no accounts and no tracking; your filter and theme choices stay in your browser.
